[News Feature] |Over 100 BIT Students Study in Russia

-- BIT joint talent cultivation with Russian universities is gratifying.

  Recently,International (Overseas) Exchange Exhibition for Undergraduates released the data, showing that overseas students sent by BIT to the well-known universities in Russia has reached over 100 since 2014.

  In 2014, with the support of the “Personnel Training Program in Russia” launched by China Scholarship Council(CSC),seven fresh graduates majoring in energy and power engineering were selected by the School of Mechanical Engineering of BIT, to study for master’s degree in the Bauman Moscow State Technical University(BMSTU). They adapted well to the strict studying requirements in BMSTU owing to their positive attitude, solid professional knowledge and excellent practical ability. With the scale and influence of the program growing these years, BIT has sent 14 students in 2015, 16 in 2016 and 11 in 2017 abroad based on the program, and the students’ majors extended to the armored vehicle engineering, vehicle engineering, mechanical engineering. Up to July 2018, 21 students from the first two batches had received Master’s Degrees, among whom nine went on studying for the Ph.D. under the support of CSC, while the other 12 students began their work in national key industries and national defense enterprises. 

  In 2016, called by the demand of National Defense Building for major technical equipment and internationalized talents, combining the goal of “Reinforce the ground, strengthen the faith and explore the sky”, BIT set up “China-Russia National Defense Talents Program” with the support from the CSC, and extended the successful cooperation mode of two schools to the well-known Russian universities including Lomonosov Moscow State University, Saint-Petersburg Electrotechnical University. The scope of majors has covered over 10 majors in national defense such as the Aircraft Design and Engineering, Weapons and Launch Systems Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Detection Guidance and Control Technology, Ammunition Engineering and Explosion Technology, Mechatronic Engineering, Photoelectric Information Science and Engineering, Information Engineering, Applied Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering. Meanwhile, based on the feature of high practicality in senior teaching in BIT’s engineering majors, the cultivation mode adds the pattern of allowing senior students to straight entrance the undergraduate. BIT had sent 27 senior students in 2017 and 23 in 2018 as well.
