ICQR conferences-History and Scope

The series of ICQR conferences was inaugurated in Hong Kong in April 1995, with the second event held in September 1997. Both events were hosted by Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and they were highly successful attracting for each of these occasions delegates and paper contributions from 16 countries in 5 continents. Selected papers presented at the 2nd Conference were published in special issues of four refereed journals. The 3rd ICQR Conference was held in Melbourne, Australia in August 2002. Department of Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) University was the host of that event. It attracted delegates and paper contributions from 20 countries and regions around the world.
The next (4th) ICQR Conference will be held in Beijing, China in August 2005 and it will be hosted by School of Management & Economics, Beijing Institute of Technology. Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering, National University of Singapore are co-organizers of the Conference.
The objective of the ICQR Conference is to provide a forum for academics and practitioners from around the world to share the results of recent research efforts, visions and experiences in the field of quality and reliability.
