FDACW 2015 successfully held in BIT

    On the morning of September 16,2015, the FDACW 2015 (2015 Sino-German Flight Dynamics & Autonomous Control Workshop) was held in Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT).More than 80 scholars attended the opening ceremony of the conference and the ceremony was hosted by Professor Tang Shengjing,also vice dean of the School of Astronautics. Other Chinese attendants were, professor Yang Shuxing, vice principal of BIT and the chairman of the meeting, vice principal professor Chen Jie, dean of the School of Astronautics Professor Hu Gengkai, vice dean of School of Astronautics Professor Cui Pingyuan and Lin Defu. Professor Hplzapfel, professor Dambeck, professor Spiess attended on behalf of Technische Universitaet München (TUM). Professor Schulte, from Universität der BundeswehrMünchen, Professor Waechter of TUM-Asia, professor Hovakimvan of “Alexander von Humboldt-stifurg” and some young professors and students attended the opening ceremony as well.

    At the beginning of the ceremony, Professor Chen Jie expressed his welcome on behalf of BIT. Then, Chen briefly introduced the history, the recent academic achievements, subject construction and foreign exchange programs of BIT. Meanwhile, Chen introduced the programs, between BIT and TUM on the undergraduate graduation design, academic exchanges, further-study of the young professors, joint education for postgraduates and Ph. D candidates. He believed that holding the FDACW 2015 would not only forge the development of aerospace science and technology ahead and get more international cooperation opportunities, but also help enhance the international influence of BIT.

    During the ceremony, Professor Holzapfel, the associate professor of BIT and chief of TUM Vehicle System Dynamics Research Institute, gave a speech on the cooperation achievements of TUM and BIT especially in aerospace field. He hoped that BIT and TUM could cooperate more and achieve more in related field.

    The workshop is organized by School of Astronautics, Key Laboratory of Vehicle Dynamics and Control and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Autonomous Control Institute of BIT, with the help of TUM Vehicle System Dynamics Research Institute. Many scholars from other institutions, including a well-known CEO, were invited to attend the workshop. Furthermore, the workshop gained massive support from the International Office and the Science and Technology Research Institute of BIT.

    The workshop provided a high level academic exchange platform. During the two-day conference, experts and scholars brainstormed widely about the cutting-edge subjects and latest progress on subjects such as vehicle dynamics and autonomous control. The discussions on the seminar covered grounds including stability analysis of spinning aircraft, multi aircraft cooperative control, intelligent vehicle autonomous control, attitude control of space vehicle and advanced guidance control algorithm. There were 15 Chinese and foreign scholars in total participating in the speech-giving session and their ideas aroused the interests of present scholars.

    After the seminar, scholars reached the understanding on the academic exchange programs between TUM and BIT. Furthermore, the FDACW 2016 would be in TUM. Moreover, enhanced cooperation between TUM and BIT on the subject, control technology for unmanned aerial vehicle, has been established.

    The FDACW 2015 not only forged the BIT development of aerospace science and technology ahead, but also help enhance the cooperation between TUM and BIT.
