Professor Ye Yunping from the School of Foreign Languages has published his research paper about over 70 highly cited papers on “Macrostructure and rhetoric step of the research papers of energy experts in China” in the 38th volume of Journal of English for Academic Purposes in 2019, which supplies the gap both in the research of this field internationally and the feature research in Chinese experts’ academic writing, thus providing important inspiration for Chinese and foreign academic writing and teaching practice.

Professor Ye Yunping has been focusing on the research of English for academic purposes and is now managing director of “Chinese Association of ESP” and “China English for Academic Purposes Association” as well as member of the College English Test Band 4 and Band 6 Committee.

Embodied in SSCI and A&HCI, Journal of English for Academic Purposes is hosted by British EAP Association and published by Elsevier whose orientation is both Linguistic academic and Educational journal.

In recent years, driven by the Double First-Class initiative of BIT, teachers in SFL not only dedicate to the scientific research career, but also work together to build “Excellent courses”. “Curriculum building of EAP under the successive bachelor-master-doctor degree mode” won first prize in 2018 Beijing Higher Education Teaching Achievement Award. This curriculum collected the fruits of Chinese and foreign academic writing practice, meanwhile highlighted the characteristics of science and technology, which significantly increased the quality of the curriculum and improved the teaching and academic level of teachers in SFL.
