Delegation of UPM Visited BIT

     Beijing Institute of Technology, Oct 31th, 2019: On the morning of 28 October, José-miguel Atienza, vice-president of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid(UPM), and the delegation of 16 visited our school. On behalf of Beijing Institute of Technology(BIT), vice-president Li Hezhang met with guests at the Zhongguancun campus.


  Li Hezhang extended a warm welcome to the UPM delegation and thanked UPM for its support for the international cooperation and exchanges between the two universities. he encouraged the teachers of the two schools to strengthen exchanges. Our school will continue to enhance mutual understanding among disciplines, continuously expand and deepen the fields of personnel training and scientific research cooperation, and enhance the academic level and international competitiveness of students and teachers.


  Atienza said that UPM attaches great importance to its cooperation with China. BIT is the first partner of the universities in China, and the two have cooperated in exchanges and conducted a multi-level talent training program. It has stimulated the active scientific research cooperation and established the deep friendship between teachers and students. He said the UPM is a leader in mechanics, robotics, augmented reality, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, communications and other fields, and hoped that the visit would further deepen its talent development and research collaboration.


  The professors of UPM also held four seminars on the topics of mechatronics, artificial intelligence, Internet of things and communication technology with the teachers and students from School of Mechatronical Engineering, School of Computer Science and Technology, and School of Information and Electronics.


  Other guests include Claudio Feijoo, the UPM’s special envoy for Asia, and representatives from the School of Industrial Engineering, the School of Computer Science, and the School of Industrial Design. Teachers and students of BIT from the International Office, School of Mechatronical Engineering, School of Computer Science and Technology, and School of Information and Electronics attended the meeting and seminar.
