Executive Vice President of NTU from UK Visits BIT

  Beijing Institute of Technology, Nov 18th, 2019: On November 15th afternoon, Nigel Wright, executive deputy president of Nottingham Trent University(NTU) from UK visited Beijing Institute of Technology(BIT), and met Wang Bo, deputy president of BIT in the meeting room in Building Two.

  

  Wang Bo welcomed his visit and introduced basic information such as BIT’s history, key discipline and internationalization. As one of the key universities of “double first-class” in China, BIT attaches great importance to exchanges and cooperation with world-class universities as well as all-round students joint training and the teacher exchanges and research cooperation. He hopes that Mr. Wright’s visit can bring mutual understanding and opportunities, and welcomes students and teachers coming from NTU.

  

  Mr. Wright appreciated the warm reception and introduced his university’s basic information such as history, disciplines, subjects, research field and cooperation with Chinese colleges and universities. He highly commends BIT’s internationalization, and he is looking forward to cooperating with BIT in multiple fields such as engineering, humanities and design.

  

  The two sides had an in-depth discussion on joint training of talents and cooperation in scientific research in the field of design and art.  

  

  Related staff from BIT international exchange and cooperation department and the school of design and art attended the meeting.

  

Brief introduction:

  Nottingham Trent University, founded in 1843, is located in the City of Nottingham and consists of three campuses, namely City Campus, Clifton Campus and Brackenhurst Campus. The university has more than 34,000 students and about 4,000 faculty. In November 2017, the university was named the best university in 2017 by The Times and Times Daily. The university was ranked 16th overall in The Guardian’s UK university rankings and 37th in the 2018 TIMES university rankings in 2018.
