The State Key Laboratory of Explosion Science and Technology Annual Academic Conference and 2019 International Symposium on Strong Dynamic Loads and Effects Successfully Held

  Beijing Institute of Technology, Nov 29th, 2019: Sponsored by the State Key Laboratory of Explosion Science and Technology and the Collaborative Innovation Center for Safety and Protection of Beijing Institute of Technology, "State Key Laboratory of Explosion Science and Technology Academic Annual Conference and International Symposium on Strong Dynamic Loads and Effects 2019" was held in Beijing from on November 29 to December 1st. Long Teng, vice president of Beijing Institute of Technology, relevant persons in charge of the School of Mechatronics, State Key Laboratory of Explosion Science and Technology, and domestic and foreign experts and scholars attended the conference. Long Teng delivered a welcome speech on behalf of BIT and expressed a warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to the domestic and foreign experts and scholars who came to the conference. The opening ceremony was hosted by Wang Cheng, director of the State Key Laboratory of Explosion Science and Technology.

  

  This conference has received extensive attention and active participation from industry peers, and provided a broad platform to display research results and discuss cutting-edge issues for the field of explosion science. In this meeting, over 20 experts at home and abroad, including Academician Nickolay N. Smirnov of Moscow University, Academician Cui Junzhi of Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Academician Le Jialing of China Aerodynamics Research and Development Center, Professor Victor PW Shim, Vice President of National University of Singapore, and Professor Yu Tongxi of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Professor Toshimori Sekine of Center for High Pressure Science & Technology Advanced Research, Professor Eugene Gregoryanz of the University of Edinburgh, Professor Koichi Hayashi, President of the Japanese Explosion Society, Professor Alexey Kiverin, Director of the Joint Institute of High Temperature Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Liu Bingbing, Director of the State Key Laboratory of Superhard Materials, Jilin University, Researcher Wei Yujie, Director of the State Key Laboratory of Nonlinear Mechanics, Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Lu Wenbo, Director of the State Key Laboratory of Water Resources and Hydropower Engineering Science, Wuhan University, have delivered wonderful conference reports. 13 outstanding young scholars, including Researcher Li Bingwei from China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology and Research Xiang Meizhen of Institute of Applied Physics and Computational Mathematics, have delivered keynote reports with rich contents. The latest achievement and development direction, in recent years in the generation and transmission of explosive shock loads, the design and application of energetic materials, the dynamic mechanical behavior of complex media and structures, damage theory and technology, and explosion safety theory and technology were intensively reflected in these reports, showing the broad prospects of explosive scientific research.

  

  International Symposium on Strong Dynamic Loads and Effects is a series of conferences sponsored by the State Key Laboratory of Explosion Science and Technology and it is an international academic conference with a strong impact on the field of strong dynamic loads and their effects. Over 120 experts and scholars from the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, Japan, Singapore, China and other countries have attended the conference. After the conference, foreign experts and scholars visited some laboratories of the State Key Laboratory of Explosion Science and Technology, and they highly evaluated the laboratory's research conditions and some of the original result in the fields of high-precision calculation of energetic materials, explosion safety and protection, and explosion damage. The conference was successfully held with great support of the BIT's International Exchange and Cooperation Office, the School of Mechatronical Engineering, the Ordnance Department Special Zone, the School of Aerospace Engineering, and the School of Material Science and Engineering.
