Vice President of Foreign Affairs of University of Western Ontario, Canada Visits BIT

  Beijing Institute of Technology, Nov 27th, 2019: On the afternoon of November 26, vice President of foreign affairs of Western University(UWO), Canada, James Weese and his delegation visited Beijing institute of technology(BIT). Vice President of BIT Wang Bo met the delegation in the conference room of administration building 2.

  

  Wang Bo showed sincere welcome to vice President Weese and introduced the historical development, advantageous subjects and international construction of BIT. He said that UWO is one of Canada's top comprehensive research universities. The partnership between BIT and UWO was officially established in 2016. And the two schools should carry out substantive cooperation on this basis, promoting student exchange, joint training, faculty exchange and research cooperation.

  

  Weese expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and introduced the basic situation of the UWO in terms of talent cultivation, research advantages and internationalization construction. He said that UWO attached great importance to the cooperation with the BIT, expressing a hope that the two universities will carry out in-depth multi-level talent training programs in the future, further promote the exchange of teachers, and carry out cooperation in health science, artificial intelligence, big data and other possible fields involved mutual interest.

  

  The delegation also visited the Advanced Innovation Center of Smart Robot and System.

  

  Jayne Garland, Health Sciences dean of UWO, Vicky Muzi Li, Chairman of International Office of UWO, BIT relevant crews from International Office, Office of Undergraduate Academic Affairs, Office of International Students, School of Life Science and Advanced Innovation Center of Smart Robot and System attended the conference.
