Notice on the Use of MOOC Resources to Conduct Mixed Teaching during the Postponed Opening of the BIT Spring Semester of 2020

       According to the spirit of Guiding Opinions on the Organization and Management of Online Teaching for General Higher Learning during 2019-nCoV Prevention and Control (General Office of the Ministry of Education [2020] No. 2) and the overall arrangement of 2019-nCoV prevention and control work of BIT, during the postponement of the opening of the spring semester of 2020, “remote online teaching by teachers according to the original class time” is required to give full play to the advantages of network information technology education and teaching based on the “Happy Learning” Platform of BIT. Combined with MOOC teaching and other methods, according to the teaching calendar, remote online teaching is carried out in different ways.

1. The specific form
      Before the start of all courses, course files shall be established on the “Happy Learning” Platform. Teachers can use MOOC resources to conduct online and offline mixed teaching, and arrange relevant contents of online class hours during this period. Such courses need to be published the course description, supplementary electronic courseware if necessary, supplementary reference materials, etc. to guide students to learn remotely, and to carry out Q&A in an appropriate way.

2. Course requirements
       Teachers should conduct mixed teaching based on the actual course. The online publishing content needs correct ideological guidance and adhere to the basic requirements of moral education. The course design focuses on student-centered, and the knowledge system of online and offline courses is scientific and reasonable, so as to ensure the substantial equivalence of online learning and offline classroom teaching quality.

3. Teaching aids and MOOC resources
       (1) Teaching aids: it generally refers to the teaching auxiliary functions of the platform where MOOC resources are located, such as online video, online homework, and online discussion and Q&A, etc.. Online tools such as “iCourse MOOC”, “xuetangx Rain Classoom”, “zhihuishu ZhiDao”, Beijing high-quality course alliance platform (RongYouXueTang), etc. are available. Operation Instructions of Teaching Aids for Main MOOC Platforms (Appendix 1) is for reference.
       (2) MOOC resources: it is recommended to apply the national excellent online open courses on the open platform recognized by our country, the courses offered by the first-class universities at home and abroad, and the course resources of BIT. The List of Quality Courses of Main MOOC Platforms (Appendix 2) is for reference.

       According to the Statistical Table of 2020 Spring Semester Undergraduate Courses Information released by the Center of Teaching Operation and Examination, all Schools which start classes should complete the filling and feedback. The Department of Undergraduate Academic Affairs will make every effort to do a good job in supporting teaching tools and supporting MOOC resources of MOOC platform, and all teachers can scan code and enter the Wechat group for communication.
