Harmoniously developing both science, technology, engineering and humanities, BIT has become one of the major bases in China to foster high-level talents. The spirit of “Unity, Diligence, Practicality, and Innovation” is the principle for the Master program of BIT. BIT has established bases for all disciplines to deliver a multi-pattern system for Master program. It also optimized the teaching syllabus and process of fostering, keeping on improving the environment and conditions for study and research. It encourages the graduate students to engage in extensive research, aiming to improve their innovation and adaptability. The Master program has fruitful achievements with many national excellent dissertation papers, and some of the students won awards in international competitions. After 20 years of efforts, master program in BIT has experienced a fast development. The scale of the program is enlarged, while the level is increasing. It turned out a large batch of high-level talents for the nation, enjoying prestigious reputation home and aboard. Now, BIT has 8161 graduate students , among which,  2,544 are Ph.D candidates. By the end of 2008, BIT conferred Ph.D degree to 3006 students, Master degree to 20536 students. International cooperation plays an important part in the development of graduate education of BIT. With 124 university partners from 42 countries and regions, BIT has great interests in conducting joint programs for PhD and accepting overseas graduate students.
