’06·Beijing International Symposium on Universal Design is to be held in Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing , China, August 03-06, 2006.  The Symposium is sponsored by Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission and Beijing Institute of Technology.  
The theme of the symposium is “ Harmonious Society and Universal Design ”.  It is for preparing for the 29th. Olympic Games and the 13th. Paralympic Games to be held in Being in 2008, to improve barrier free facilities in Beijing to international level. The conference invited the experts and scholars from various countries. We hope the symposium will provide an international forum for the open exchange of information and ideas in the field of universal design. Let’s give more attention to disabled people and help to build a more harmonious society.
