1.The chemical synthesis and characterization of nanoparticles. .
2.The optical properties of quantum confined semiconductor nanoparticles such as Cu2O,CdS,PbS etc.  
3.The observation and optical properties of selftrapped states in transition metal oxide nanoparticles like titanium dioxide and tin oxide under surface modification.
4.The fabrication and characterization of oxide nanoparticle multilayer through the Langmuir-Blodgettt techniques. 
5.The nonlinear optical properties of oxide nanoparticles under ultrafast laser excitations.
6.The structural instability of transition metal oxide nanoparticles and spectroscopic properties.
7.The biphotonic DFWM storage of Azo dye and its mechanism
8.The preparation, electronic structure and optical properties of semiconductor core-shell nanoparticles in the reverse micelle
9.The observation of quantume confined polaron effect in nanosilicon system with surface Hydrogen and Oxygen capping

1. Fabrication, design and characterization of 0-D and 1-d nanomaterials, including metals, semiconductors, insulators, and their arrays, polymers, films, surfaced modified, dispersed in organic solvent, by chemical and physical methods;
2. Exciton behavior in confined system; the high density elementary excitations and interactions; Photonic crystals and related coherent quantum state; Optical properties of nanomaterials: Luminescence and lasing of semiconductor nanostructures
3. Near field optics of nanostructures; Time-resolved and spatial-resolved spectroscopic studies on the quantum state and optical properties of confined condensed matter, with special reference to the nanomaterials and their applications in photonics, nanobiotechnology, nanomedicine.
4. The theoretical modeling and simulation of the electronic structure of nanosystems, the excitonic magnetic polaron in diluted magnetic nanostructures and their collective behaviors.  The Bose-Einstein Condensation in confined systems.  
5. The solar cell, photodetector with nanocryatals,  nanophotonicdevices.
