(1)  The design, properties and devices based on the 1-d nanostructure:
Exciton confinement and luminescences; excitonic polariton; 1-d micro-nano-structure fabrication; multichannel optical waveguide and devices; nanolaser; the energy band engineering of semiconductor nanostructure; optical cavity and coupled optical cavities in nanowire; the optical behaviors and coherent effect in 1-d micro – and nano-structures.
 

(2)  The optoelectronic properties of QDs and macromolecules:
QD preparation, surface modification and multifilms; QD Luminescence and LED; solar cell based on QDs and macromolecules; photoelectric detector based on nanomaterials; the quantum transport in QD and macromolecule multifilms. 
 
(3)  Photonics of DMS nanostructures
Exciton and spin interaction in DMS nanostructures; exciton condensation and coherent radiation; ferromagentics origin and its optical identification; the exciton and emission modulation under strong magnetic field.
 
(4)  Microfabbrication and devices based on semiconductor microstructures
Multifilm preparation and manufacture by some lithography techniques; micro-optoelectronic device fabrication and characterization; the simulation and modulation of micro-photonic devices.
  
(5)  Time and spatial resolved laser spectroscopy
The dynamics of confined exciton; The optical dectection and imaging of time and spatial resolved optical signals; the high density excitation behavior of semiconductors and modulation; the laser spectroscopy under extrinsic fields; plasmonic laser spectroscopy.
