Postgraduate Education

  The School of Information and Electronics embraces comprehensive and logical postgraduate education disciplines and framework. The school now has 2 disciplines (Electronic Science and Technology, Information and Communication Engineering), and 8 sub-disciplines. Among them, Electronic Science and Technology and Information and Communication Engineering are mobile postdoctoral stations; doctoral programmes are Circuits and Systems, Microelectronics and Solid State Electronics, Electromagnetic Field and Microwave Technology, Bioinformatics Engineering, Communication and Information System, Signal and Information Processing, Information Security and Countermeasure, and Target Detection and Identification; master progrmmes are Circuits and Systems, Microelectronics and Solid State Electronics, Electromagnetic Field and Microwave Technology, Bioinformatics Engineering, Communication and Information System, Signal and Information Processing, Information Security and Countermeasure.

  The school embraces a clear educational ideology which attaches great importance on postgraduate education, and regard it as a key component of the discipline construction. The school pays much attention on faculty construction, especially on that of the young teachers. On the construction of cultivation conditions, the school built several discipline laboratories with “985 Project” and “211 Project” funds. Besides, the school invested and built professional laboratories, research centers and technical training centers according to the development plan of each discipline, which effectively promoted the overall and consistent development of the school disciplinary construction as a whole. The postgraduate education of the school has a characteristic of national defense disciplines take lead, military and civil disciplines develop coordinately, and talents cultivated with clear gradation. The education of the school functions in a comprehensive frame and strict management system, and forms a quality supervision mechanism in which each echelon of the school, disciplines and tutors takes specialized responsible, operates coordinately and shares mutual supervision. 

  The school holds the development strategy of “Innovation, Teamwork, Openness, and Competiveness”. Basing on Innovation, competing with teamwork, embracing openness and magnanimity in mind, the school is stepping forward to become a high level research university of “leading in China, and famous in the world”. The construction and development of the school always focus on two core issues: The first one is constructing high-level disciplines. Factors such as echelon, direction, scientific research, talent cultivation, academic exchange, and funds for construction are all comprehensive reflections of school’ abilities and influences; The second one is cultivating high-quality talents. This factor is not directly reflected in the reports such as discipline construction. However, it is a primary factor on the future development of school. Postgraduate education is a key component of high-quality talents cultivation, for its quality directly influences the realization constructing a high level research university of “featured by national defense science and technology, and lead by science and engineering”. Therefore, the school never forget to implement these development ideas in postgraduate education, and attaches great importance on enhancing postgraduate academic education and nurturing innovative consciousness and abilities.

  The school always put great efforts on the construction of tutor teams, providing of teaching and researching conditions, and many other aspects, so as to offer policy support and condition assurance for the development of postgraduate education. The school especially enlarges postgraduate educational investments with “985 Project” and “211 Project” funds, enhances scientific research platform construction, and consolidated the disciplines and discipline groups to share postgraduate educational innovation base and research platform. Besides, the school raises construction funds via multiple approaches such as scientific research collaboration, joint programmes, and etc. to steadily improve the conditions in postgraduate scientific research, education and practical training.
