BIT Professor Long Teng Won IEEE TCCPS Distinguished Leadership Award

  On September 21, the chairman of IEEE Technical Committee on Cyber-Physical Systems (IEEE TCCPS), Professor Hu Shiyan from the University of Southampton, visited the school and awarded the 2020 IEEE TCCPS Distinguished Leadership Award certificate to the vice president, Professor Long Teng,rewarding him for his outstanding leadership and social influence in the field of new radar sensing and space-based embedded information processing of information physical systems.

  The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) currently has 35 professional societies, including the Technical Committee on Information Physics Systems (TCCPS), which was established to promote research and education in information physical systems (CPS) and related fields. CPS aims to address the close interaction and deep integration between information and physical components, and research areas include the theory and practice of data sensing and manipulation, engineering fundamentals of information-physical interaction, design and verification of embedded computing systems, and applications of CPS methods in various fields, such as smart energy systems, smart cities, automotive systems, medical remediation, wearable devices, and the Internet of Things.

  The IEEE TCCPS Distinguished Leadership Award is one of the highest awards of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers in the field of cyber-physical system technology. It aims to recognize individuals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and substantive leadership in the implementation of international activities that support cyber-physical system technology, and have made outstanding contributions to IEEE with outstanding performance. The award was selected by the IEEE TCCPS Award Committee, and so far only 4 people have received this honor.

  Professor Long Teng’s award of this honor reflects that BIT has been recognized by international authoritative academic institutions in the new system of radar sensing and on-board embedded information processing. It is one of the landmark achievements of Beijing Institute of Technology to become a world-class university. 
Introduction of Professor Long Teng:

  Long Teng, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and vice president of Beijing Institute of Technology. Professor and doctoral supervisor of Information and Communication Engineering at Beijing Institute of Technology. He has long been engaged in research in the field of new system radar and real-time information processing, published 2 academic works, published more than 130 SCI search papers,led more than 50 invention patents, won 2 second prizes of the National Technology Invention Award (ranked first ), 1 first prize of Beijing Education and Teaching Achievement (ranked second), won the He Liang He Li Foundation Science and Technology Progress Award in 2019, and won the National Innovation Award in 2020. Member of the 7th Discipline Evaluation Group of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, Changjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor of the Ministry of Education, winner of the National Science Fund for Outstanding Youth,former technical chief of the 973 project and chief expert of the national 863 key project, chairman of the Signal Processing Branch of the Chinese Institute of Electronics,Deputy Director of the Radar Branch, Fellow of the Chinese Institute of Electronics, IET Fellow in the UK and IEEE Fellow in the US.
