School of Law

The School of Law was established in 2008, following the launch of undergraduate education in law in 1994. It adopts a "Law + Technology" training model and aims to cultivate high-level legal professionals. The school offers undergraduate programs, dual-degree programs, master's degree programs, and doctoral programs.

In recent years, the school has been closely aligned with China's national key strategies and the university's "Double First-class" construction plan. It has placed emphasis on constructing research platforms such as the Institute of Air and Space Policy and Law, the Center for Intelligent Technology and Law, and the Institute of International Dispute Prevention and Settlement. These platforms have played a significant role in promoting the coordinated development of various legal disciplines, including international law, civil and commercial law, jurisprudence, administrative law, criminal law, procedural law, and environmental law.

The school focuses on innovating the training model for legal professionals. They have designed characteristic courses featuring "law + technology" to enhance the quality of talent through different teaching characteristics. This model won first prize in the Beijing Higher Education Teaching Achievement Awards in 2017. The school has been approved as the Ministry of Education's "Legal Practice Teaching Base" project and has established joint mentorship with more than 20 government units to enhance students' legal practice abilities. Students have achieved remarkable results in various competitions, such as the Beijing University Mock Trial Competition, International Space Law Mock Trial Competition, and Intellectual Property Mock Trial Competition.

The school has established cooperative relationships with law schools and research institutions of several world-renowned universities. As the undertaking unit of the first batch of "Innovative Talent Cultivation International Cooperation Project" of the China Scholarship Council, students are selected to participate in academic conferences, short-term study abroad programs, or pursue degrees abroad. Renowned foreign professors are invited to teach every year, and an international law major, taught entirely in English, is offered to all law students.
