BIT School of Management and Economics completes on-site review for EQUIS re-accreditation

The international accreditation expert group of the European Foundation for Management Development Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) recently conducted an on-site review for the re-accreditation of the School of Management and Economics at the Beijing University of Technology (BIT).

The review panel was chaired by Professor Andrea Sianesi, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Politecnico di Milano Foundation in Italy.

Other members included Professor Metka Tekavčič, dean of the School of Economics and Business at the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia, Matt Bolger, pro vice-chancellor of the University of Waikato Management School in New Zealand, and Anton van Rossum, former executives from McKinsey & Company and Credit Suisse.

During the on-site review, the expert group held nearly 20 discussions and meetings with university leaders, relevant functional department heads, school leaders, responsible professors for various majors, alumni, teacher representatives, student representatives, and others.

The group conducted a comprehensive and in-depth investigation into the school's development goals, teaching programs, student education, faculty, scientific research, advanced management training, resource support, internationalization level, social responsibility, and sustainable development.

They also visited the school's history museum, laboratories and research centers, and conducted on-site inspections of the school's teaching facilities and learning environments.

After careful and detailed discussions, the expert group formed preliminary re-accreditation opinions and provided feedback.

The group highly praised the achievements of the school over the past three years, affirmed the organization of the on-site accreditation work, and made specific recommendations for the school's further development.

The BIT School of Management and Economics has simultaneously held accreditation from the three major international accreditation bodies, the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), EQUIS, and AMBA (Association of MBAs); an accomplishment shared by less than one percent of management schools around the world.
