BIT holds graduation ceremony for non-degree international students

The Office of International Students of the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) held, on Jan 5, a grand graduation ceremony for non-degree students who completed their study of the 2023 fall semester.

One hundred students received graduation certificates for their satisfactory performance after having completed their studies.

Liu Weiguang, associate director of the Office of International Students, Zheng Hailan, director of the administrative office, all teachers from the teaching and research office, some teachers from the management office, and over 130 non-degree students, attended the ceremony.

The event began with greetings in Chinese and English from Peng Meiqin, a teacher from the teaching and research office, and Jiang Wenjie, a teacher from the administrative office. 

Liu Weiguang congratulated the students, saying that the BIT will always be the "home" for them in China, and encouraging them to come home often. Zong Xin, the teacher in charge of exchange student affairs, also shared words of encouragement.

Touching words from these teachers brought tears to the eyes of the students.

Nguyen Thi Hanh, a student from Vietnam, shared her experiences and feelings while studying at the BIT. She expressed gratitude on behalf of the students to the school and the teachers.

Liu Weiguang awarded certificates of attendance and the "Study at BIT" mascot - Dr. Panda, to students who achieved a 100 percent attendance during the semester. 

The award winners were joyous, while those who did not receive such awards admired their peers, pledging to work harder in the future to earn such honors.

Zheng Hailan and Zong Xin presented graduation certificates and "Study at BIT" souvenirs to the graduating students.

After the certificate presentation, the students performed exciting programs, earning enthusiastic applause. 

The ceremony concluded with parlor games -- charades and tongue twisters -- where everyone participated with great enthusiasm, filling the venue with laughter and joy.

The graduation ceremony ended in a warm and pleasant atmosphere, with students bidding farewell to each other, hugging, saying goodbye, offering best wishes, and taking commemorative photos.

In this semester, the BIT welcomed over 170 non-degree students from more than 10 countries, including Russia, Poland, Myanmar, and Vietnam, to study Chinese language and professional programs.

During their time at the school, they actively participated in cultural exchanges and academic exploration, deepening their understanding of China and expressing their love for Chinese culture. 

In the future, the BIT will continue to build bridges for cultural exchanges, promoting Sino-foreign friendship.
