BIT, CUFE sign strategic cooperation framework agreement

The Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) and the Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE) signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement on Jan 23.

With the signing of the agreement, the two universities have established a comprehensive strategic partnership and will engage in in-depth cooperation in talent cultivation, scientific research, and discipline development.

According to the agreement, the two sides will carry out in-depth cooperation in the fields of talent cultivation, scientific research, and education and teaching reforms, promote the in-depth development of interdisciplinary studies, conduct organized inter-school interdisciplinary exchanges, and explore innovative models for cultivating high-level talent. 

The two universities will engage in talent cultivation, focusing on the application of advanced technologies, such as big data and artificial intelligence, in the field of finance. 

They will work together to establish the "Intelligent Finance Talent Class" and jointly conduct the training of professionals in financial technology. 

Additionally, they will explore the establishment of a collaborative laboratory platform involving "BIT + CUFE + enterprises," collaborating on key technologies and major applications. 

BIT and CUFE will also undertake educational and teaching reforms, focusing on professional areas such as finance, taxation, international taxation, insurance, and actuarial science, and will cooperate in constructing a batch of cutting-edge interdisciplinary courses.

Zhang Jun, secretary of the CPC BIT Committee, hoped that the signing of this agreement would serve as an opportunity for close cooperation. He emphasized the importance of cooperation in talent cultivation, optimizing discipline layout, and building a model for inter-school cooperation in the new era.

BIT President Long Teng expressed the hope that both sides would promote complementary advantages, mutual empowerment, accelerate the integration of cross-disciplines, construct a high-quality comprehensive and balanced disciplinary system, explore new models for talent cultivation, and build a new paradigm for the construction of new engineering and new liberal arts.

In his speech, He Xiuchao, secretary of the CPC CUFE Committee, urged the two sides to further tap into their potential and unleash their capabilities to expedite the implementation of high-quality cooperation projects. He pledged that CUFE will give full support to advance the cooperative projects and achieve positive results as soon as possible.

CUFE President Ma Haitao added that this collaboration aims to inject strong impetus into the construction of both universities as world-class institutions with Chinese characteristics, and cultivate innovative talents in the era of data intelligence.
