BIT International Summer Program in July recruits volunteers

The Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) will host an international summer program in July 2024, welcoming over 300 international university and high school students from renowned institutions in Europe and the United States of America.

The program will focus on engineering and cultural courses, offering a rich and distinctive curriculum. 

We are now recruiting volunteers from domestic and international students. Volunteers will have the opportunity to attend classes and interact with international students. 

Work Schedule: June 27 - July 27

Work Language: English

Number of Volunteers needed: 20 Chinese students and 25 International students

Requirements

1. Responsible, friendly, enthusiastic, with strong organizational and cross-cultural communication skills.

2. Good academic performance and behavior, with strong communication skills. Chinese students must be fluent in spoken English, with preference given to those with TOEFL or IELTS scores; international students must be fluent in spoken Chinese, with preference given to those who have passed HSK4 or above.

3. Preference given to those with skills in video shooting and editing, or artistic design.

4. Participants are generally not allowed to withdraw midway. Please ensure you can participate as required (at least three times a week).

Responsibilities

1. After training, volunteers will assist with various daily tasks of the summer program, such as airport pickups, new student registration, activity coordination, leading outings, tutoring, creating certificates and transcripts, etc.

2. Volunteers will attend classes with international students, help improve their Chinese speaking skills, assist teachers in classroom teaching, record attendance, organize course discussions or field activities, and perform other duties within the scope of the teaching assistant role as defined by university regulations.

2. After preliminary review of materials, interviews will be organized in mid-June.

3. Volunteer training and subsequent task allocation will take place in late June.

4. Upon completion of the program, the BIT Office of International Students will provide the volunteers with volunteer service certificates and proof of volunteer hours.
