A delegation led by Caroline Baylon, pro-vice-chancellor of the University of Reading, participated in the 2024 Campus Open Day and Admissions Consultation at Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) on June 22.
Zhang Jun, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and secretary of the CPC BIT Committee, and Jiang Lan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and president of BIT, warmly welcomed the delegation and highly praised the Accounting (Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education) Program.
Caroline Baylon commended BIT's achievements in recent years and expressed her hope for further cooperation in more areas.
In the afternoon, BIT and the University of Reading held a graduation ceremony for the 2024 undergraduate students of the Accounting (SFCE) Program.
The event was attended by BIT Vice-President Wang Bencong, Caroline Baylon, Dean of Henley Business School Elena Beleska-Spasova, Vice-Dean of Henley Business School Yinshan Tang, Program Director from the UK side Dan Luo, and representatives from BIT's School of Management, Office of International Affairs, Academic Affairs Office and Mingde College.
About 200 people, including faculty representatives, the graduates and their parents, participated in the event.
The graduation ceremony featured speeches by Wang Bencong, Caroline Baylon and Dean Tang Baojun, who congratulated the graduates on successfully completing their studies, acknowledged their outstanding achievements and expressed high hopes for their future endeavors.
Student representative Xu Yunqing and parent representative Liu Yi also gave speeches, reflecting on their learning experiences and showcasing the educational effectiveness of the university, school and program.
