BIT students invited to work as interns on the frontline of the Paris Olympics

During the 2024 Paris Olympics, 46 students from the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) worked as interns at the forefront of the Olympic venues in Paris, witnessing China's Olympic glory on site.

BIT started its cooperation with the Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) during the preparations for the Beijing Winter Olympics in October 2020. With their outstanding performance in event broadcasting, BIT students have gained high recognition from OBS.

Before the Paris Olympics, BIT students were once again invited to join the OBS production, technical, and support team.

Xue Chenrui, a 2020 undergraduate student in the School of Management and a 2024 doctoral student at the International Organization Innovation Institute, was responsible for setting up, testing and monitoring the equipment in the commentary control room at the Paris Olympics. He provided technical support to commentators from various countries, ensuring the smooth transmission of event commentary to audiences worldwide.

Huang Yuwei, a 2020 undergraduate student at the School of Economics and a 2024 master's student, served as an operator in the archival management department at the Paris Olympics, bearing responsibility for capturing and managing event interview videos, ensuring that valuable interview content was promptly edited, archived and uploaded to the official Olympic Games website.

Fang Zhengyi, a 2019 undergraduate student, provided broadcasting services at the Commentary Seat Exchange Distribution Center in the International Broadcasting Center during the event.

Long Xuanyu, a 2020 undergraduate student from the School of Foreign Languages, joined the technical and support team of the OBS, serving as a video archivist in the archival management department.

Lu Fengchi, a 2020 undergraduate student from the School of Integrated Circuits and Electronics, serves as a multi-camera video archivist in the archival management department. He recorded the content of the broadcast process to extract exciting moments captured during the competition.
