The 26th China Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Competition (CRAIC) National Finals have recently wrapped up in Yixing, Jiangsu province.
Graduate students from the Institute of Automotive Research, School of Mechanical Engineering at Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) won first prize in the national finals and first prize in the Beijing division of the "Baidu Apollo Urban Road Autonomous Driving" category. This marks the team's third consecutive national first prize in this competition.
The CRAIC, as a long-standing and widely influential national academic competition, is classified as a national-level class A event. The Urban Road Autonomous Driving category is based on the real industry practices of Baidu Apollo, focusing on the design, development, and competition of autonomous driving software algorithms in the context of autonomous vehicles driving on urban roads.
The competition attracted more than 1,300 participants in 407 teams from 208 universities across China, including Tsinghua University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Beihang University, Tongji University, and Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
The competition projects include cutting-edge technological applications and practices in areas such as autonomous driving, robotics and artificial intelligence.
