President Lee Ki-jeong of Hanyang University in South Korea led a delegation to visit Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) on October 13 to further deepen the exchange and cooperation between the two universities.
Jiang Lan, BIT's president, warmly welcomed Lee Ki-jeong and his delegation on behalf of the university.
In addition to reviewing the 11-year achievements of cooperation between the two universities, Jiang introduced the recent development of BIT in talent cultivation, scientific research, faculty team building, and open education to the visiting guests. He noted that BIT is willing to further deepen teacher-student exchanges and research cooperation with Hanyang University to propel the cooperative relationship between the two universities into a new stage.
Having expressed his sincere gratitude for BIT’s warm reception, Lee Ki-jeong emphasized that Hanyang University values cooperation with China and began its collaboration with Chinese universities even before the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea. He appreciated the recent development of BIT, believing that both universities share a high degree of similarity in academic disciplines and development paths.
He said he hoped both sides will enhance resource sharing, complement each other's strengths, and improve the quality of education, research levels, and international influence.
