More than 100 experts and scholars from over 20 domestic institutions participated in the symposium.
The conference, with the theme "Lunar Comprehensive Space Environment Platform for Space Base Construction", featured four central topics, including lunar environment exploration, lunar in-situ construction, lunar comprehensive transport and lunar energy utilization.
During the symposium, Zhang Jun, secretary of the CPC BIT Committee and academician with the Chinese Academy of Engineering, said that deep space exploration is crucial for humanity's peaceful utilization of space resources and the exploration of new boundaries for living space, which has become a focal point for major aerospace powers worldwide. The construction of a multi-domain space environment platform on the moon is of significant importance for establishing China's international leadership in the field of space.
Zhang proposed the establishment of a comprehensive "knowledge-source-transportation-construction" platform system on the moon to achieve multi-dimensional perception across the entire domain, efficient and sustainable comprehensive energy utilization, versatile and intelligent transportation across the entire base in various forms, as well as in-situ mining, processing and precise construction at multiple levels.
He also called for the implementation of the "Moon Exploration Engineering and Technology" (MEET) project, which involves the construction of regional mobile scientific research stations, wide-area environmental detection stations, and outer space monitoring stations on the moon. Through leading innovation, talent aggregation, new domain cognition and open communication, Zhang believes the research vision of "exploring new boundaries of the Moon and expanding new human space" can be realized.
Zhang said that over the past 20 years of lunar exploration, BIT has been consistently accompanying and deeply engaging in lunar research, accumulating valuable experience. In recent years, the university has achieved a series of outstanding results in talent cultivation, technological innovation, and team building, thus accumulating new strengths and gathering new momentum to serve lunar exploration research. BIT will work together with scholars, contributing to the construction of a strong aerospace nation.
The Xiangshan Science Conferences is a high-level, interdisciplinary, and small-scale academic conference in China's scientific community, with the main goals of exploring the forefront of science and promoting knowledge innovation. The conference primarily adopts methods such as review reports, special reports, and in-depth discussions to explore the frontiers of science and the future.
