The exchange meeting for engineering doctoral and master students' mentors at the university and enterprises opens at Beijing Institute of Technology.
Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) held an exchange meeting for engineering doctoral and master students' mentors at the university and enterprises on March 23.
Over 260 participants, including the representatives of students' training enterprises, the heads of the schools at BIT and academic advisors for engineering doctoral and master students from Beijing and elsewhere attended the meeting.
Yan Yan, assistant to BIT's president, said that in recent years, BIT has been deeply promoting the scientific organization of talent development, continuously strengthening the collaboration between the university and enterprises in nurturing professionals. The university is fully committed to creating a new paradigm for engineering and technical professional development that integrates science and education, industry and education and university-enterprise cooperation, and striving to cultivate more high-quality outstanding engineers for the country.
Wang Yafei, assistant director from the China North Vehicle Research Institute of the China North Industries Group Corp, Ltd, Professor Xia Min of the School of Materials Science & Engineering, as the representatives of the on-campus mentors, and chief expert Liang Zhuo of the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology, China Aerospace Science and Technology Group, as the representative of industry mentors, shared their experiences in cultivating engineering master and doctoral students.
After the conference, schools of BIT organized a symposium for on-campus and industry mentors with the 2024 cohort of engineering master and doctoral students, discussing professional practice plans, research topics and other related matters concerning the engineering master and doctoral programs.
This conference provided a communication platform for on-campus and industry mentors, playing a crucial role in enhancing their collaborative guidance of engineering master and doctoral students, cultivating outstanding engineering master and doctoral candidates and strengthening the development of the engineering subjects.
