Wei Yiming, BIT's vice-president, warmly welcomed the delegation and reviewed the significant achievements of BIT in serving the country's major strategic needs and promoting cutting-edge technological innovation.
Wei said that BIT has always adhered to the internationalization concept of open cooperation in education and in recent years has had increasingly closer interactions with Latin American universities. He appreciated the profound accumulation of the CUJAE in the field of engineering and technology and suggested enhancing mutual trust among scholars and promoting student exchanges by leveraging the intersecting points of excellence in both universities.
González expressed her sincere gratitude for the warm reception at BIT and highly praised the progress made by the university in cutting-edge technology and the integration of medicine and engineering.
She said that CUJAE is a top talent-training base for engineering and technology in Cuba, and that in recent years it has expanded into the intersection of artificial intelligence and advanced manufacturing. González said she hopes to strengthen cooperation with BIT in multiple areas such as medical technology and advanced manufacturing, including co-establishing joint laboratories, collaboratively training high-level talents and organizing international academic conferences together.
During the visit, representatives from the School of Integrated Circuits and Electronics of BIT introduced the progress and plans of its key research and development program under the China-Cuba government-to-government international scientific and technological innovation cooperation initiative by the Ministry of Science and Technology. The two sides engaged in in-depth and fruitful discussions on topics such as research cooperation, and faculty and student exchanges.
