International students from the Beijing Institute of Technology take part in the Global Hanfu Festival for Chinese International Students.
On March 31, over 70 international students from the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) were invited to participate in the Global Hanfu Festival for Chinese International Students held at the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology.
Wang Daquan, secretary of the CPC Committee of the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange and director of the center, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the hanfu festival.
Wang said that hanfu (traditional Chinese attire) is an important facet of cultural exchange between Chinese and foreign youths. He said that he hopes this event will not only display the beauty of cultural integration between China and foreign countries but also enable Chinese and foreign youths to develop friendships and to grow in cross-cultural exchanges.
BIT has always encouraged international students to disseminate Chinese culture. In recent years, through brand activities such as the "international cultural festival", the university has supported international students to better tell the story of China at home and abroad with clothing, calligraphy and intangible cultural heritage skills.

At the hanfu festival, traditional etiquette and modern technology have blended together and shined brightly. BIT international students wore various styles of hanfu and participated in interactive activities such as hanfu dressing and etiquette study with young people from different countries, deeply experiencing the unique charm of hanfu and exploring the deep meaning behind the patterns.
In the future, the International Student Center of BIT will further collaborate with domestic and international organizations to customize cultural practice projects for international students, supporting them to demonstrate cultural confidence in cross-cultural communication.
