International students from Beijing Institute of Technology who participate in the 'Stories of China Retold in English' contest
The advanced stage selection of the 5th "Stories of China Retold in English" competition for international students studying in China was conducted in Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) on April 25. More than a hundred Chinese and foreign teachers and students participated in the event.
In this edition of the event, BIT hosted the advanced stage campus selection activities for international students studying in China for the first time, forming a participating country matrix covering 39 countries.
Li Jinghua, vice-president of the Stories of China Research Institute, China Institute for Innovation and Development Strategy, said the event is an important platform for global youth to promote Chinese culture and facilitate dialogue among civilizations.

A total of 49 young people from 12 countries including Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, and South Korea showcased Chinese culture and interpreted China through their own stories.
At the end of the event, six participants received first prizes, nine received second prizes, 15 received third prizes, and 19 were awarded with excellence prizes.
BIT will continue to cultivate more outstanding international talents with prominent professional abilities, international perspectives, and a deep understanding of China, playing an active role in promoting high-quality openness of Chinese higher education to the world and enhancing the international influence of Chinese higher education.
