The AI Transformation and Science Education Innovation Forum was held at Zhongguancun Campus, Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), on May 17.

Representatives from renowned universities, AI-related research institutes and enterprises such as Huawei, Tencent and Baidu participated in the forum.

Jiang Lan, BIT's president, welcomed the attending experts at the forum and presented the high-quality achievements the university has made in recent years.

Jiang emphasized the need to establish a new hub for cultivating top artificial intelligence professionals to build a source of breakthroughs in AI technology innovation, and to create a demonstration area for integrated smart transformation.

BIT leaders and attending experts unveil BIT's School of AI.

The founding ceremony of the School of AI, BIT, was held simultaneously with the forum.

Wang Bo, BIT's vice-president, said that the School of AI will integrate AI resources inside and outside the university, gather top national AI leaders and focus on five major disciplines: AI fundamentals, AI technologies, AI systems, AI security, and AI applications. He said the school will establish an outstanding interdisciplinary professional development procedure for AI, innovate in building a smart operational security system and strive to build a world-class School of Artificial Intelligence.

In addition, the experts present at the forum delivered keynote speeches on the establishment of the School of AI and the innovation of science and education empowered by artificial intelligence.
