The Practice and Innovation in the Digital Development of Higher Education Forum is held in Changchun, Jilin province, on May 24.

The Practice and Innovation in the Digital Development of Higher Education Forum, hosted by the China Association of Higher Education and Jilin University, and co-organized by the Smart Education Research Branch, Chaoxing Group, and Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), was held in Changchun, Jilin province, on May 24.

This forum attracted 1,100 representatives to attend in person, with an online audience of 28,800.

In his address, Zhang Jun, secretary of CPC BIT Committee, vice president of the China Association of Higher Education and chairman of the Smart Education Research Branch, pointed out that digitalization in higher education is a key lever for serving national strategies.

He said BIT has been deeply involved in the field of educational digitalization for nearly 30 years. From pioneering the national electronic competition for students of universities across the country in 1994, to leading online course development in 2013, and more recently spearheading the construction of a national higher education smart education platform and overseeing key projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology, BIT has continuously contributed its wisdom to the digital development of higher education in the country.

Zhang also highlighted that BIT will further promote the development of smart education in three aspects: conducting in-depth theoretical research on smart education, boosting technological innovation in smart education, and promoting the empowerment of artificial intelligence education in talent development.

The forum announced the release of the "Educational AI Knowledge Base" jointly developed by the School of Education at BIT and Chaoxing Group.
