Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) scored a big win at the 2025 "Challenge Cup" Beijing College Student Extracurricular Academic and Technological Works Competition.
BIT won 15 awards in the main competition, including 5 special prizes; in the "Artificial Intelligence +" competition, the university won 51 awards, including 11 special prizes; and in the "Open Competition Approach" contest, it won 25 awards, including 2 special prizes. The number of the special prizes in the main competition received by BIT rank second among all the universities in Beijing.
The award-winning works include: the development of core components for cutting-edge ultra-high-pressure manufacturing equipment; precision-guided laser weeding robot systems; 3D heterogeneous integration high-reliability packaging interconnect material technology; digital technology empowering rural medical revitalization; a flexible surgical robot with variable stiffness in complex environments of the human body's natural cavities; AI empowering the full-chain development of antimicrobial peptides to build a strong health barrier for wheat; intelligent pioneers in sewage monitoring and control; and intelligent spine endoscope minimally invasive surgical robots.
In addition to the excellent results in the provincial "Challenge Cup" competition, at the recent 4th Beijing College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, BIT's 105 projects have successfully advanced to the next stage contest, making it the only university in Beijing with over a hundred projects advancing and also the university with the highest total number of awards in this competition.
