Professor Hu Weidong, a renowned expert from Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), has recently been invited to attend the International Telecommunication Union's Radio Communication Sector (ITU-R) Study Group 1 (SG1) meeting in Geneva, Switzerland.
At the meeting, Professor Hu highlighted his focus on spectrum management, with an emphasis on the terahertz band. As one of the representatives of China at the conference, Professor Hu showcased the professional expertise and responsibility of Chinese scholars in the terahertz field.
As the national leader and spokesperson for the "1.8 Terahertz" topic within SG1, Professor Hu presented constructive suggestions regarding the application prospects and management strategies of terahertz spectrum.
He has not only conducted in-depth analyses of the technical challenges and spectrum allocation principles, but also emphasized the critical role of the terahertz band in future mobile communications, satellite links, and high-resolution imaging fields. This has effectively showcased the influence of the Chinese proposal in the formulation of international regulations.
