The Graduate School of Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) organized a delegation of faculty and students to attend the United Nations World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) and the AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva, Switzerland from July 7 to 11.
Co-hosted by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the Swiss Federal Government, the summits attracted over 10,000 representatives from more than 150 countries. The BIT delegation actively engaged in global dialogues on AI governance by hosting forums and delivering keynote speeches during the event.
At the conference, BIT delegation co-hosted three high-level thematic forums with international organizations such as the Diplo Foundation and the SASA. The diverse topics of these forums included "Smart Education: Integration and Resonance of Chinese and European Teaching Practices", "Artificial Intelligence with Philosophy, Education, and Governance", and "AI for Good: Constructing a More Equitable Global Financial System".
The visit to Geneva is part of the "2025 Elite Talent Internationalization Training Program" of the Graduate School. This program, with the school as the main implementing body, focuses on curriculum development, global governance, deepening cooperation, and academic leadership in four dimensions, systematically organizing graduate students to engage in academic exchanges at internationally renowned universities and institutions.
In the future, the Graduate School will continue to deepen the reform of the international talent training model, aiming to cultivate high-level composite talents with global competence, contributing wisdom to serving national strategic needs and promoting the construction of a community with a shared future for humanity.
