A delegation of seven people from the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE University) in Russia, led by HSE University President Nikita Anisimov, visited Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) on Sept 2.

Established in 1992, HSE University ranks 5th in Russia according to the 2026 QS World University Rankings, enjoying a high international reputation in fields such as economics, management, sociology, and mathematics.

BIT President Jiang Lan warmly welcomed Anisimov and his delegation at BIT and introduced the university's high-quality development and distinctive cooperation with Russia in recent years.

Jiang also proposed three initiatives for future collaboration between the two sides: leveraging complementary strengths to establish a regular exchange mechanism, sharing faculty resources to deepen teaching cooperation and campus interactions, and learning from each other to encourage the cultivation of interdisciplinary talents. He expressed hope that this visit would serve as an opportunity for both sides to jointly create a model of China-Russia cooperation in education and technology.

Anisimov expressed his heartfelt gratitude to BIT for the warm reception. He praised BIT's outstanding achievements in scientific research, talent cultivation, and internationalization efforts.

Anisimov provided a comprehensive overview of HSE University's development history, campus layout, international rankings, strong academic disciplines, internationalization features, as well as its achievements in admissions and talent cultivation. He stated that the ongoing deepening of China-Russia relations offers a favorable opportunity for cooperation between the two universities. He looks forward to further promoting strategic dialogues between university leaders, inter-college exchanges, expert academic collaborations, and youth interactions in the fields of scientific research and talent cultivation, thereby establishing a new multi-level and comprehensive framework for cooperation.
