Students from Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) recently achieved remarkable success at the 2025 China College Boxing Championship and the 23rd National College Athletics Championship, showcasing their exceptional skill and spirit.
The China College Boxing Championship is the highest-level and largest university boxing event in the country. Since its inception, the event has not only promoted the widespread popularity of boxing across universities nationwide, allowing more students to experience the unique charm of the sport, but also established a high-quality platform for competitive exchange. This year's competition attracted over 600 athletes from 100 universities across the country.
BIT's boxing team secured a gold medal in the men's A Group 60-70kg category and two silver medals in the women's A Group 54kg and 75kg categories. Liu Tianyue, a teacher from the Physical Education Department, was awarded the Excellent Coach title and Yang Jin, an undergraduate student from the 2021 class of the School of Automation, won the Excellent Athlete title.
As the largest national-level track and field event in China and with the highest participation from universities across the country, the 23rd National College Athletics Championship attracted over 5,300 athletes and coaches from 490 institutions nationwide. This marks a record number of participating schools in the event's history.
The BIT athletics team achieved an impressive performance by winning 2 gold and 3 silver medals in this year's competition. Additionally, they were honored with the Sportsmanship Award for their exemplary conduct and spirit.
