The 8th COMAC International Science and Technology Innovation Week, co-hosted by Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) and the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China Ltd (COMAC), opened on Sept 8 in Beijing.
During the event, BIT and COMAC signed an agreement to collaborate on cultivating talent for large aircraft projects.
Zhang Jun, secretary of the CPC BIT Committee, praised COMAC for its outstanding contributions to the national large aircraft industry and provided updates on the university's progress. Zhang highlighted that the domestic large aircraft industry is poised for takeoff, thanks to COMAC’s successfully pioneering of a path to develop commercial aircraft with completely independent intellectual property rights. BIT and COMAC will accelerate the cultivation of strategic talent for the national large aircraft initiative, jointly establish a source of original technology, an elite innovation talent training camp, and a test field for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, collaboratively painting a beautiful picture of high-quality development for the large aircraft industry.
He Dongfeng, secretary of the CPC COMAC Committee and COMAC’s chairman, presented the origins of this event. He highlighted that BIT has been deeply involved in the fields of aircraft design, artificial intelligence, and intelligent manufacturing for many years, and has accumulated practical experience in large aircraft development.
He emphasized that in the future, COMAC will work hand in hand with BIT to transform cutting-edge concepts into real productivity and explore new pathways for the development of future aviation technology.
The large aircraft talent cultivation program will leverage the educational resources of the university and the practical resources of COMAC to jointly conduct the training of outstanding engineers, thereby reserving backup talent for the development of the domestic commercial aircraft industry.
