To further advance the construction of a "smart university" and to develop a first-class faculty and student service platform, Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) has recently established a new faculty and student service hall at its Zhongguancun Campus in Beijing on the occasion of the university's 85th anniversary, providing faculty and students with one-stop, integrated services.

On Sept 23, the unveiling ceremony for the service hall was held at the Zhongguancun Campus, with the attendance of Zhang Jun, secretary of the CPC BIT Committee, and Jiang Lan, the BIT's president.

At the unveiling ceremony, Zhang Jun and Jiang Lan emphasized the need to strengthen the concept of comprehensive service. They highlighted that the service hall should serve as an important window for serving the faculty and students and showcasing the university's image. Efforts should be made to continuously optimize business processes and enhance the level of integrated, digital, and intelligent services.

This newly-established service hall spans 533 square meters. The design is based on the concepts of "functional integration, intelligent empowerment, and cultural immersion". It includes seven functional areas: a comprehensive service area, an international affairs service area, a self-service area, a digital experience area, a cultural display area, a communication and sharing area, and a back-office area. By integrating multiple functions, the center aims to make services smarter, more efficient, warmer, and more valuable.

Leveraging AI, the service hall aims to promote the transition of more services to be handled "online, through self-service, and in an integrated manner," thereby improving accessibility and efficiency for the faculty and students.
