BIT hosts cultural performances celebrating 13th Seniors' Day

Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) hosted cultural performances to celebrate the 13th Seniors' Day, alongside with a Golden and Diamond Wedding Anniversary ceremony on Oct 29.

The event was attended by BIT President Jiang Lan, Vice-President Li Zhenjian, and over 200 retired faculty representatives.

Before the festivities commenced, President Jiang warmly interacted with the senior attendees and, on behalf of the university, extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the couples celebrating their diamond and golden wedding anniversaries. He also wished all retired faculty and staff good health and longevity in honor of the Chongyang Festival, also known as the Double Ninth Festival or Senior's Day.

Vice-President Li extended holiday greetings to the senior attendees and offered his warm congratulations to the couples celebrating their anniversaries. He emphasized the university's ongoing commitment to the well-being of its retired faculty and staff, highlighting its efforts to create a supportive living environment and provide more considerate services for them.

Over 200 members from the university's senior college and cultural interest groups, composed of retired faculty and staff, created and performed their own artistic programs. The performers, full of energy, expressed their love for the country, appreciation for life, and deep affection for the university through various forms such as dance, choir, instrumental performances, Peking opera, and poetry recitations.
