
The 13th Teli Forum International Young Scholars Forum opened at Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) on Nov 21, aiming to enhance overseas talent recruitment.
Zhang Jun, secretary of the CPC BIT Committee and chair of BIT Council; Jiang Lan, BIT president; and over 400 participants, including university leaders, representatives from remote institutions, outstanding young overseas scholars, and young faculty representatives, participated in the forum.

Zhang Jun delivered the opening speech, highlighting BIT's rich heritage as the first science and engineering university founded by the Communist Party of China and its commitment to innovation and leadership over the past 85 years.
Zhang invited ambitious young scholars to join the university, encouraging them to thrive in an environment conducive to entrepreneurship and achievement. He shared three hopes for the participants: to broaden their perspectives and strengthen their sense of responsibility, to act swiftly and enhance their capabilities, and to integrate personal aspirations with national priorities, making significant contributions to critical fields.

Jiang Lan delivered a keynote report on BIT's development, providing an overview of its history and achievements in talent cultivation, technological innovation, and faculty development.
Jiang emphasized BIT's alignment with national strategic needs and global technological advancements, developing distinctive characteristics of excellence. He stressed the university's commitment to treating talent as its primary resource, implementing comprehensive support systems to foster talent development. He invited young scholars to join the university to forge new paths and create a promising future together.
Additionally, BIT's Zhuhai campus, along with various academic departments and research institutions, hosted exchange activities such as specialized reports, academic seminars, and talent discussions. These events facilitated in-depth engagement between young scholars and the university's academic community. Attendees had one-on-one interactions with research teams to explore future development paths collaboratively.
