According to recent data from the Essential Science Indicators (ESI) in Web of Science, the paper titled Dynamic generation of multiplexed vortex beams by a space-time-coding metasurface, published in Photonics Research by Professor Si Liming's research group, has been selected as a Highly Cited Paper.

The paper introduces a theory and technology for intelligent electromagnetic control, which enables the dynamic adjustment of the orbital angular momentum (OAM) mode composition and power distribution of generated multiplexed vortex beams without altering the physical structure or input excitation. The prototype of the space-time-coding vortex beam metasurface has been experimentally validated in the microwave frequency band. This method can be effectively extended to the terahertz, infrared, and optical frequency bands, showing significant potential for applications in multimodal multiplexing communication, radar, and sensing systems. It is expected to drive technological innovation and development in these related fields.

ESI is an in-depth analytical research tool based on the Web of Science Core Collection database. ESI Highly Cited Papers are those that rank in the top 1 percent of papers by citation count in their respective academic fields and publication years. This designation serves as an important indicator of the international impact of research outcomes.
