In January 2026, the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) will convene its 16th Party congress. Leading up to this event, a series of reports will showcase the university's achievements since its 15th Party congress in 2021.

Over the past years, Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) has been advancing its Zhuhai campus as a strategic move to support the national educational and regional development goals, particularly within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The university aims to transform the campus into a model for reform in Chinese higher education and a leader in modernization, contributing to its status as a world-class institution.

Since late 2021, BIT has collaborated with Zhuhai authorities to enhance the campus, aligning with the broader development of the Greater Bay Area.

The campus focuses on strategic areas such as marine technology, aerospace information, energy and transportation, and social sciences, aligning with national priorities like the "Healthy China" initiative.

Significant achievements include the approval of a doctoral program in "Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering", and the establishment of major projects like "China Blue Eye" and "China Sea Vision".

The campus is also fostering innovation in medical engineering, with BIT's affiliated hospital and a joint medical engineering school achieving recognition in prestigious journals and awards.

The Zhuhai campus is a hub for talent, implementing global recruitment strategies and fostering collaboration with leading companies like BYD and Huawei. It has attracted over 300 international talents, with a significant proportion recognized at national and provincial levels.

The campus is also enhancing its international outreach by joining the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance and expanding its global student base.
