
At the Raisina-IE Global Student Challenge 2026 held recently in New Delhi, India, He Zhiyu, a master of public administration student at Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), along with teammates from five different countries, secured the runner-up position in the finals.
This challenge is a key component of the Raisina Dialogue, South Asia's most influential platform for geopolitical and geo-economic exchange. This year, it attracted participants from 86 universities worldwide, including King's College London, the University of Toronto, and Fudan University.
He Zhiyu's team presented an innovative proposal titled "Building an AI-Enabled Future: A Global Child Health Model Based on Decision-Making Approaches". The team focused on global public health and child health development, exploring how artificial intelligence can empower remote healthcare systems to systematically reduce global child mortality rates. Their project demonstrated solid technological expertise while conveying profound humanitarian concern.
BIT has launched the Year of International Cooperation in 2026, with the Graduate School implementing key initiatives to cultivate globally-minded talents, enhance research capabilities, and boost innovation skills. BIT aims to improve graduate students' innovative and practical abilities, strengthen the integration of artificial intelligence and humanistic qualities, and vigorously support BIT students in showcasing their talents and responsibilities on the international stage.
