BIT and China Telecom sign a cooperation agreement

Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) and China Telecom held a signing ceremony for a strategic cooperation framework agreement on April 9.

At the event, Zhang Jun, secretary of the CPC BIT Committee, expressed gratitude for China Telecom's longstanding support to the university.

Zhang stated that China Telecom, a pillar of the national telecommunications industry, shares a common heritage and development strategy with BIT, offering vast potential for future collaboration. He hopes this partnership will serve as a new beginning, focusing on technological advancements in optoelectronics integration, quantum sensing, and space-ground security.

Ke Ruiwen, secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group of China Telecom and chairman of the company, expressed gratitude for BIT's strong support. Ke noted that China Telecom is committed to advancing technological prowess, supporting a digital China, and ensuring cybersecurity. He highlighted that there is great potential for collaboration in technological innovation between the two sides; and he looks forward to using this opportunity to strengthen resource alignment and focus on AI, quantum technology, security, and satellite fields.

Huang Zhiyong, deputy general manager of China Telecom, and Wang Bencong, vice-president of BIT, signed the strategic cooperation framework agreement.

According to the agreement, both sides will engage in deep cooperation in scientific research innovation, talent cultivation, campus digital transformation, and industry-academia-research collaboration, contributing to the application and development of China's next-generation information technology and artificial intelligence industry.
