The 6th National Teaching Innovation Competition for University Teachers concluded in Nanjing, Jiangsu province on July 23, where teams from Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) achieved significant success.

The team from the School of Aerospace Engineering led by Qi Rui and the team from the School of Mechanical Engineering led by Wu Qin won first prizes; the team from the School of Life Science led by Wang Rui secured a second prize, while the teams from the School of Physics led by Han Junfeng and the School of Management led by Wu Yang received third prizes.

This marks the fifth consecutive year BIT has won the first prize at the national level.

The competition featured nine tracks, including emerging engineering, medicine, and agriculture, and spanned 32 regions. It covered all undergraduate universities, academic disciplines, and teaching types.

A total of 2,964 teachers (including team members) from 699 courses advanced to the national finals. The competition awarded 104 first prizes, 247 second prizes, and 348 third prizes.

As the main organizer for the Beijing region, BIT led teams from Beijing universities to participate in the national finals, ultimately securing 10 first prizes, 12 second prizes, and 19 third prizes.

BIT was also recognized with the Outstanding Organization Award for the region, showcasing the teaching innovation capabilities of Beijing's university educators.

Previously, in the Beijing regional competition held in May 2026, all nine teams from BIT won awards, including five first prizes, one second prize, and three third prizes, ranking among the top in Beijing universities.

In recent years, BIT has prioritized teaching excellence, focusing on faculty development and driving educational reform and innovation. The university aims to unleash the teaching innovation potential of its faculty.
