Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) is preparing to welcome its newest cohort of international students for the 2026 academic year, with a full schedule of enrollment and orientation activities designed to help new arrivals settle smoothly into campus life.

The international students are required to complete their online pre-registration, including tuition and medical insurance payment and information binding via the university's "Study Abroad Assistance" mobile application, no later than Aug 28, 2026.

On-campus registration will take place on Sept 7-8 from 9 am to 5 pm (Beijing Time). During registration, students will submit their admission documents, collect their campus cards, and obtain their Chinese SIM cards on-site. Original passports valid for at least six months, valid X1 visas, printed admission notices, JW201/JW202 forms, and other required academic and personal documents should be provided.

To ease the arrival process, the university will provide airport pick-up services at Beijing Capital International Airport and Beijing Daxing International Airport between 8:30 am and 5 pm on Sept 7 and 8. In line with visa policy requirements, students holding X1 visas are advised not to enter China earlier than Sept 5.

A two-week welcome and orientation program will run from Sept 7 to 18, featuring the opening ceremony, cross-cultural lectures, Chinese law education sessions, campus tours, physical examinations, and meetings with student counselors. During this period, students will also complete their accommodation registration, course selection, bank account opening, and other personal arrangements. Formal classes will begin on Sept 21, 2026.

The university has reminded all new students to complete their registration procedures on time. Those unable to arrive as scheduled due to special circumstances must submit a written explanation to the designated email address at least one week in advance. Students who fail to register within two weeks of the designated date without a valid reason or approved leave will be regarded as having automatically forfeited their admission.

With comprehensive services ranging from online pre-registration to airport reception and on-site support, BIT aims to ensure a smooth and warm start for its new international students, who are beginning a new journey filled with growth and rewarding experiences at one of China's leading universities.
