International Students’ words for the 59th Sports Meeting of BIT

With a grand opening ceremony, the 59th Sports Meeting was successfully held on Liangxiang Campus by Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) on May 15, 2021. Teachers and students from the Office of International Students took an active part in participating in the events at the sports meeting and delivered their sincere honor and best wishes to all the participants. The sports meeting has provided a perfect place for students with different cultural backgrounds to communicate with each other through various activities. Today, students from BIT News Agency did some interviews with several international students, asking about their opinion about the sports meeting and BIT, and here is what they had to say.

1.)Tao Tian is a Bangladeshi girl majoring in computer science and technology. She took part in the event of shooting basketball.


Q: How do you think you have performed before?

A: Every night I would practice a lot, and this one is really exciting.

Q: What do you think about this sports meeting from an overall perspective?

A: Well, this is my third year here. Every year I participated in all of our events, so as long as I know, all the events are really cheerful. Everyone enjoys themselves, so it’s really cool.

Q: That’s cool. Now I’d like to ask you some extended questions. What do you think of BIT after these three-year studying here?

A: (Smile.) As a foreign student, from my perspective, BIT gave me a lot of opportunities to learn about Chinese culture and other countries’ culture together. And it has also helped us a lot about our study, so BIT is really the best.

Q: That’s amazing. Is there anything else you’d like to share with us?

A: If you want to learn some kind of Chinese culture and also know about different students from different cities, then at least you can come here in China, and obviously in Bit, because BIT gives you more opportunity to learn and to enjoy more about this culture.

2.)Yu Chengfei majors in communication engineering. He comes from Burkina Faso. He took part in the hop skip and jump at the sports meeting.


Q: How well do you think you performed just now?

A: Not bad, Huh huh.

Q: What do you think of this sports meeting overall?

A: I think it’s fantastic.

Q: After studying and living in BIT, what do you think of your life at BIT?

A: It’s also great. The environment is really beautiful and the schoolmates, the teachers are also enthusiastic.

Q: Is there anything else you want to share?

A: It’s glad to study there. The teachers, schoolmates are friendly and the environment is beautiful. The sports meeting is a great chance to let us relax.


3.)Song Yanzhi is an exchange student from Korea. She majors in international economics and trade and she participated in the group dance at the sports meeting.


Q: How long did you prepare for this event?

A: A week.

Q: What do you think of this sports meeting overall?

A: It’s so moving. There were some amazing salutes. Everyone has prepared carefully, which is really hard.

Q: What do you think of your life at BIT? And do you get used to it in Beijing?

A: Yeah, I have fit in it.

Q: Is there anything else you want to share, for your schoolmates, the campus or your partners?

A: Thank you for all your hard work.


International students from Lingwen Academy responded positively to the call of BIT at the sports meeting. Apart from the sports events, they also took an active part in helping to organize and propagandize the activity. At the sports meeting, students with different cultural backgrounds shared their views freely, and pass them towards all the students at BIT.
