At 3:30 in the afternoon, the game kicked off. The BIT team played against the Hohai University team. The players actively launched the offensive. In the 80th minute of the second half of the game, the BIT players coordinated to pass through the midfield. Wang Minjie calmly shot in front of the goal and scored a point. The China University Football Association (University Men’s Super League), referred to as CUFA, was formerly the University Student Football League founded in 2000. It is the football league with the widest participation, the highest level of competition, and the most influential Chinese colleges and universities in China, also a national eleven-player college football tournament officially recognized by the Federation of University Sports of China.

BIT Football Team's road to victory

The BIT football team was divided into Group B in this competition, with Chengdu Institute of Physical Education, Taiyuan University of Technology and Xinjiang Normal University in the same group.


June 15-17

Group stage

In the first round of the group stage, the BIT team defeated Xinjiang Normal University team 2:1. In the second round, with the main players taking a break, they overtake Chengdu Institute of Physical Education 4:0 and got the qualifying spot one round ahead of schedule. In the last round, the Beijing Institute of Technology defeated the Taiyuan University of Technology team with a score of 4:0, securing the first place in the group.

Quarter-final

In the quarter-finals, BIT played against the dark horse Hainan Normal University team in Group C. Guo Mengjie, Li Xiangyu, and captain Huang Yi scored successively, and finally entered the semi-finals with a score of 4:0.

Semifinal

In the semi-finals, BIT ushered the opponent in the same group of -the Chengdu Institute of Physical Education team. The previously outstanding No. 7 Li Xiangyu and No. 9 Huang Yi scored successively, and No.14 Wang Minjie scored again, securing the victory. The team defeated the Chengdu Institute of Physical Education team with a score of 3:0 and successfully advanced to the final.

In the past ten years of CUFA competitions, the BIT team met the Hohai University team five times in the finals, with a total of 9 clashes. Road to the 11th championship

Established in 2000, the Beijing Institute of Technology football team is the first domestic team to participate in professional competitions with school students as a team. In 2006, it participated in the Chinese League B for the first time and won the championship in one fell swoop and was promoted to the Chinese Football Association China League. Prior to this, it won the CUFA (Super Group) championship ten times, and represented China in the World University Games five times, giving Beijing Institute of Technology an absolute hegemony in the field of campus football.
