The foundation-laying ceremony for the student dormitory building project

A foundation-laying ceremony for a student dormitory construction project was held on Dec 30 at Beijing Institute of Technology's (BIT) Liangxiang Campus.

At the ceremony, Zhang Qi, deputy head of Fangshan district, Beijing, extended warm congratulations on the commencement of the project. Zhang praised BIT’s leading role in driving innovation and technological capabilities in Fangshan district, emphasizing that the dormitory construction project will further promote the university's comprehensive development.

Wang Bo, BIT's vice-president, expressed his gratitude to the staff who have supported the project's construction on behalf of the university. Wang said that the construction of dormitories is crucial to ensuring students receive a fair and high-quality education, enhancing BIT's educational capabilities and boosting students' sense of achievement and contentment during their studies. He hoped that the entities involved would work together in cooperation, ensuring the smooth progress of the project and striving for its early completion and use.

The total planned construction area of the student dormitory building project at BIT's Liangxiang Campus is 260,100 square meters. It is scheduled to be completed and put into use by 2026.
