BIT international student shines in 'Good Voice' competition

BIT international student Exantus Myrvens, interprets the classic jazz song Feeling Good at the International Student Good Voice Competition.

An international student at the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) advanced in the final of the International Student Good Voice Competition of the Sixth International Student Festival in Zhuhai, Guangdong province on Dec 27-28.

A total of 350 international students from 62 countries, including the United States, Russia, France, Haiti, Malaysia, Indonesia, Nigeria and Costa Rica, competed in the event.

They came from 52 universities in China, such as Tsinghua University, Sun Yat-sen University, and BIT.

Exantus Myrvens, an international student of BIT, emerged as one of the top 12 contestants after fierce competition in the preliminary rounds.

Music serves as a bridge for cultural exchange worldwide. The top 12 contestants delivered stunning performances singing Chinese and English songs, and creating a visual and auditory feast for the audience.

Exantus Myrvens beautifully interpreted the jazz classic song Feeling Good with soulful charm, earning cheers from the entire audience and ultimately receiving an Outstanding Award.

"I am extremely excited to represent BIT in the competition. The experience of studying and living in China has been unforgettable for me. When I stood on the stage, I felt the warmth of the audience sitting below, and it was their enthusiasm that allowed me to showcase myself wholeheartedly. In this competition, I met international students from different universities across the country and encountered so many outstanding voices. I will always cherish the friendships I have formed with them. I enjoyed every moment of the competition. I am grateful for this rare opportunity to share my passion for singing with everyone. I sincerely thank my university and all those who have believed in and supported me throughout this wonderful journey," Exantus Myrvens said.
